The city of Alicante is one of the favourite tourist destinations on the Spanish coast. Next to the Mediterranean Sea, it is a tourist city which also offers congresses and a university lifestyle, capital of a province with highly dynamic commerce and industry. It also has a privileged climate, seven excellent beaches, beautiful walks, a wide range of shops and restaurants and a huge choice of cultural, leisure and sports options, with an emphasis on golf and sea sports. All these make Alicante a unique destination, ideal both for relaxing and holding business meetings.
It almost seems as if over time, a city has grown up here which offers quality of life all the year round.
In Alicante you will enjoy an average temperature over 18º C and more than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. Winters are mild and summers warm, so you’ll always be able to enjoy the area’s beaches and sea bathing.
The city is open to the rest of the world through its marina and its modern infrastructures, including an international airport, railway and bus stations, and highway and road networks which bring it a constant stream of visitors.
Its parks, gardens, avenues, outdoor areas, cinemas and theatres offer a wide selection of leisure events, and in summer there is a very varied programme of activities specially for children and families. The Belenes (nativity scenes) and Fogueres de Sant Joan museum (the latter dedicated to Alicante’s well-known annual festival) are the best option for families with children.
